Social media in today’s generation are very popular and more and more people are making their own account to this social media like the Facebook, Twitter and MySpace. Surely, we are hooked today by many social media websites and we cannot deny the fact that it greatly helps a lot of people. One of the reasons why social media is very appealing nowadays is because it promotes freedom of expression. Social Media users can say what they feel can post anything that they want to post. From wall post, photos and even videos anyone of us can do it.

Let’s take a look on how people define it:

·         Andreas Kaplan and Michael Haenlein define social media as "a group of Internet-based applications that build on the ideological and technological foundations of Web 2.0, and that allow the creation and exchange of user-generated content."

·         Kietzmannet al. (2011) argue that “social media introduce substantial and pervasive changes to communication between organizations, communities, and individuals”

·         Stacy DeBroff (founder and CEO of Mom Central) --“Social media offers new opportunities to activate…brand enthusiasm.”

According to this definition, they believe in the power social media as it give more change on the society and the way people express who they are. They have seen social media can transform a very primitive society. Surely, we feel the process of modernization through this amazing websites.
